Current Position and Past Experience
Katie Smith has worked as an Emergency Management Associate at IEM since 2013.

Prior to that, Smith worked as an Emergency Planning Associate at Fairfax County Health Department and as a Research Assistant at Penn State University.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Smith graduated with a BA in International Affairs and National Security from Penn State University in 2009. She went on to complete both her Masters of Professional Studies in Homeland Security and her Masters of International Affairs at Penn State University in 2012.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Smith enjoys volunteering with her local fire company as well as singing in her church choir. Smith also enjoys reading, baking, playing and watching sports, and keeping up with current events.
