Current Position and Past Experience
Jane Bowen is currently the chair of the Competency Map Committee at Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). Jane also lectures in financial accounting and audit at UOIT in Oshawa. She was part of the CPA Ontario School of Accountancy management team for over 25 years and has been involved in professional development and education of accounting professionals for many years. Jane often authors publications, issued by CPA Canada’s Research Guidance and Support Group, addressing the implementation of new accounting and assurance standards, and is a frequent speaker on current issues facing CPAs.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Jane Bowen has a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree from University of Toronto (1982) and CPA designation (1985) and was recognized as a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario in 2011.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, Jane loves spending time with her family and in the garden. Her most recent activity was taking kayaking lessons so she could spend time on the many lakes and rivers near her home.
