Current Position and Past Experience
Aleksandar (Sasha) Tomic has served as Associate Dean for Strategy, Innovation and Technology in the Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College since 2017. In this capacity, Tomic leads strategic initiatives pertaining to online education, alternative credentialing and executive education at the college, managing strategic asks and program development activities. Tomic joined Boston College in 2015 as Program Director for Boston College’s Master of Science in Applied Economics, a position he also currently holds.
Prior to taking on his current role, Tomic served as a faculty member at Mercer University, Jack Welch Management Institute, Wesleyan College, and Middle Georgia State University. He led the Executive MBA program at Wesleyan College and was a co-founder and Director of the Center for Economic Analysis at Middle Georgia State University. In addition to his academic career, Tomic was a Principal in Econometrics at Hendyplan, S.A. in Luxembourg, where he participated in and managed multi-year, multi-national projects in areas of economic statistics on behalf of Eurostat, the statistical office of European Union.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Tomic holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and an M.A. in Economics from Clemson University. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Texas A&M University.
