Current Position and Past Experience
Robert Kelchen currently serves as an assistant professor of higher education in the Department of Education Leadership, Management and Policy at Seton Hall University. Kelchen has been published by a number of peer-reviewed publications including the Journal of Higher Education, Journal of Education Finance and Journal of Student Financial Aid. Kelchen is also a consultant for Washington Monthly magazine, where he compiles and calculates their annual college rankings. Kelchen is regularly quoted by media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, MSNBC, and Politico.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Kelchen earned his B.S. in economics and finance from Truman State University. He earned his M.S. in economics and his Ph.D. in educational policy studies from the University of Wisconsin.

Kelchen was awarded first prize in best data journalism by the Education Writers Association in 2013 and was recently named one of the 15 indispensable academics on Twitter by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
In his free time, Kelchen enjoys running, gardening, and visiting different historic sites on the East Coast.
