Current Position and Past Experience
Nathan Cheney is the Executive Director of Professional and Continuing Studies at Brock University. In this role, he works collaboratively with academic and industry partners to expand access to high-quality lifelong learning opportunities and create innovative educational pathways that meet the evolving needs of learners and organizations.
A dedicated education professional, Nathan has built his career around enhancing learner experiences and advancing educational accessibility across diverse learning environments. Prior to his current position, he served as Director of Professional and Continuing Studies at Brock University. His earlier experience includes leadership roles in continuing education and business development, including Program Manager with McMaster University Continuing Education and Business Development Manager at Queen's University. He also held several administrative and academic support positions at Queen’s University, including Coordinator of Academic Personnel and Programs Assistant.
Earlier in his career, Nathan gained valuable experience in the K–12 sector through a variety of educational and student-focused roles within independent schools and a national educational travel program, where he supported experiential learning, student development, and educational programming.
Education, Honors, and Achievements
Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies and a Bachelor of Education (Junior/Intermediate) from Brock University. He also earned a Master of Education from Queen's University.
Throughout his career, Nathan has demonstrated a strong commitment to educational innovation, student success, and lifelong learning. His leadership in professional and continuing education has contributed to the growth and advancement of accessible, high-quality learning opportunities for students, professionals, and community members. He is passionate about collaborating with educators, industry leaders, and community partners to create meaningful educational experiences that empower learners at every stage of their personal and professional journeys.
