Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Emmanuel Lalande is currently Senior Vice President for Enrollment Strategy and Student Success at Columbia College Chicago. He has over two decades of experience in enrollment and student development, and is joining Columbia from Voorhees University, where he served as Vice President and Special Assistant to the President from 2022-2025. Previously, he was Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services at Benedict College.

Dr. Lalonde’s expertise spans strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, fundraising, budget management, and workforce development. He serves as a peer evaluator for both the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), bringing deep knowledge of accreditation and institutional assessment. He is also actively engaged with national organizations including NASPA, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), and the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI).

Education, Honors and Achievements
A proud first-generation college graduate, Dr. Lalande holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Delaware State University. He earned a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and holds a Certificate in Fundraising Leadership from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Lalande enjoys reading, traveling, fitness and skydiving. He currently serves as a board member for the 5 Strong Scholarship Foundation, for at-risk students. A Brooklyn, New York native, he has been married to his college sweetheart, Tamara, for 16 years, and together they find joy in raising their three daughters, Emani, Tara and Aliya.
