Current Position and Past Experience
Alicia Myrick is the Director of Initiatives at CAEL, where she directs significant projects focused on improving outcomes for adult learners. Bringing more than a decade of experience in higher education administration, project management, and strategic consulting, she has led major multi-institution projects for large university systems.
Dr. Myrick's expertise includes Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), particularly in aligning industry certifications with academic credit through the development of credential crosswalks. She also analyzes and reforms institutional policies to eliminate inequities and barriers for non-traditional students. A central focus of her professional work is equity for adult learners, driving efforts to strengthen institutional support structures and cultivate campus environments conducive to student success. As a certified Agile Change Management professional, she applies these methodologies to guide institutions through complex transformations. Prior to her work at CAEL, Dr. Myrick served as the Chief Conduct Officer at Clayton State University.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Alicia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish Literature from Georgia State University, a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs from Louisiana State University, and she earned her Doctor of Education in Student Affairs Leadership at the University of Georgia.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
When she’s not at work, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading. She enjoys watching baseball and especially loves cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Alicia also spends her free time volunteering at her children’s school and serving at her church.
