Current Position and Past Experience
Taylor Kinn is the Director of Career Communities, Loyola University Chicago, where she leads the career advising team who utilize a career community-based model to create connected career ecosystems based on student interests. Taylor also serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago.
Taylor is a dedicated higher education professional with experience spanning career counseling and advising, student development, instruction and facilitation, supervision and training, strengths-based education, retention initiatives, civic engagement, mentoring, new student orientation, and student ethics and conduct. Prior to joining Loyola, Taylor served as Associate Director of Undergraduate Business Career Advising and Assistant Director of Student Career Advising at Northwestern University. Additionally, Taylor worked in Career Services at Lawrence University, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and Indiana University Bloomington.
Taylor is recognized for building strong relationships, developing students, proposing innovative ideas, and adapting to the evolving landscape of higher education. A lifelong learner and team-oriented professional, Taylor brings strengths in organization, relationship-building, and fostering productive teams while emphasizing high expectations and shared mission and values.
Education, Honors, and Achievements
Taylor earned a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, Sociology, and Spanish from Cornell College.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
When she is not adventuring with her family, or in the kitchen baking Taylor enjoys staying connected to her community. She volunteers with local organizations to provide direct service and grants related to children, education, food and housing insecurity. She has participated in various college access programs as a mentor and likes to stay connected to her alma maters.
