Current Position and Past Experience
Mick Starcevich was former president of Kirkwood Community College for 15 years. He has 50 years of experience in education, serving in roles such as; a teacher (6 Years), assistant principal (4 years), principal (2 Years) superintendent (23 years), and Chief Academic Office of a community College (1 year). In 2018, he retired. Current jobs are being consultant for both Packback and SMG (Soluntions Management Group).
Education, Honors and Achievements
Graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1969 with a BA (major of Mathematics and minor of Business). In 1973 received my MA from UNI (degree in secondary eduction). In 1990 received my ED.D from Drake University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
When not consulting I love spending time at our lake house (located in Spirit Lake, Iowa). During my tenure at Kirkwood I enrolled in several of their cooking classes and I put that knowledge to work often (speciality is sushi). During the summer I spend a lot of time watching my ninth grade grandson play baseball.
