Current Position and Past Experience
Michael Eamon has worked at Trent University since 2009 and is currently Director of Continuing Education, Principal of Catharine Parr Traill College and Adjunct Professor of History. Previously, he was Principal of Lady Eaton College and acting Director of Trent International. Prior to being at Trent, he served as a Plaque Historian at the Ontario Heritage Trust and spent over six years at Library and Archives Canada in several roles, including Manager of Policy and Partnerships and Manager of Virtual Exhibitions and Partnerships.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Eamon holds a PhD and a Master of Arts in History from Queen’s University, a Master of Philosophy from University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of Ottawa.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Michael is also a musician who in his spare time playing percussion or singing. He is a member of the United Way community cabinet in Peterborough and chairs Collegiate Way International, a worldwide organization that connects and supports higher educational professionals that work in university colleges.
