Current Position and Past Experience
Karla Barron brings over 17 years of experience in post-secondary education, with a diverse background that spans managing new student transition programs, developing student engagement strategies, and supporting education for professionals and corporate clients. She spent four years at the University of Alberta before transitioning to NAIT’s Corporate Training, where she oversaw customized training projects designed to close knowledge and skill gaps for corporate employees. In 2023, Karla assumed the role of Program Manager for the Energy & Environment program, where she leads the development of innovative training solutions in partnership with industry stakeholders.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Barron holds a Master of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies from University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Management from Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas. She completed certificates in Project Management and Leadership and Leadership Development from NAIT.
