Current Position and Past Experience
Justin Pfeifer is Vice President for Student Success at WSU Tech, formerly Wichita Area Technical College, and has been in this role since 2014. As Vice President, he provides leadership for Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Student Affairs/Engagement, and High School Dual/Concurrent Credit programs. Pfeifer has been with WSU Tech since 2012 when he joined the college as Dean of Students. Prior to WSU Tech, Justin served for seven years in several roles at Manhattan Area Technical College including Counselor, Director of Admissions, and Vice President of Student Services. He also participates on local and national advisory boards and task forces focused on higher education and college access and serves as the chair of the Higher Education Research and Development (HERDI) Innovate board.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Pfeifer holds an Associate of Art from Colby Community College, Bachelor of Science in Sociology-Criminology, a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Development and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Student Development, all from Kansas State University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, Pfeifer enjoys staying active in the community and giving back in meaningful ways. He serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of South-Central Kansas and volunteers with his church, his children’s school, St. Anthony’s Family Shelter, and the United Way. When he’s not volunteering, you’ll most likely find him cheering on his daughters at their sporting events or helping with their many activities.
