Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Douglas Geiger is currently Dean of Student Development at City Colleges of Chicago—Daley College. He is also an Adjunct Faculty Member at Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Geiger has previously served in senior student affairs and academic support positions for positions in the greater Chicago (The University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Resurrection University) and New York City (Manhattanville College and St. John’s University) metropolitan areas. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Professional Development at Stony Brook University (NY).
Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Geiger holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and Mass Communications from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He also has a Master of Arts in College and University Administration from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University. Doug served as the commencement speaker at his undergraduate alma mater (The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse) for the College of Liberal Studies commencement ceremony in 2005.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Doug is a proud Chicagoan who likes to take advantage of the lakefront and Chicago’s many cultural opportunities. Doug also served as a Board of Directors member of Youth Outreach Services (providing personal support services to underserved Chicago youth) for ten years. He and his husband Erik Decker are also the proud uncles of ten nieces and nephews.
