DiAnna Washington has served at University of North Carolina Wilmington since 2022 and is currently Director of Student Success & Retention. She is a student-focused education administrator with over 25 years of experience designing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive programs and services that support students’ development and academic progression.
She has a proven track record of designing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive programs aimed at enhancing student support, improving student outcomes and fostering a positive school culture. She is skilled in providing strategic direction, operational oversight and developing research and policy initiatives to create a cohesive framework that promotes sustainable student success and retention. She is committed to delivering exceptional academic support and ensuring equitable education for all students.

Washington holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Education Studies from Indiana University Indianapolis, a Master of Education in Learning Sciences Educational Psychology, a Master of Arts in Community Counseling, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Washington enjoys skydiving, watching BBC, listening to NPR, trying new recipes, traveling, savoring dark chocolate and red wine, wine tastings, relaxing on long weekends, soaking up sunny days, thrifting, visiting farmers markets and getting lost in a good book. She also enjoys volunteering with Habit for Humanity.
