Current Position and Past Experience
Casey Kendall serves as Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for Information Technology & Analytics at Ithaca College. She leads the institution's technology, cybersecurity, data and analytics, enterprise applications, infrastructure, digital experience, and innovation strategies, with a focus on advancing the College's mission through thoughtful, people-centered technology leadership
Casey brings a distinctive cross-sector perspective shaped by service in the U.S. Navy, experience in advanced manufacturing, and leadership roles across higher education. She is recognized for building collaborative, high-performing teams and for guiding organizations through complex technological and organizational change with a strong focus on institutional values, sustainability, and student success.
At Ithaca College, Casey leads strategic initiatives including AI governance and workforce readiness, cybersecurity modernization, cloud communications, digital experience transformation, data and analytics advancement, and enterprise technology strategy. She chairs the Presidential Working Group on Artificial Intelligence, helping shape the College's approach to responsible innovation and the ethical use of emerging technologies.
Nationally, Casey is an active contributor to EDUCAUSE and the broader higher education technology community. She has served as faculty for the EDUCAUSE Digital Transformation Learning Lab and has presented on artificial intelligence governance, digital transformation, organizational change, technology leadership, and leading innovation during periods of financial constraint.
Education, Honors, and Achievements
Casey holds a master's degree in Cybersecurity and has developed expertise at the intersection of technology, organizational transformation, and people-centered leadership. Throughout her career, she has focused on aligning technology strategy with institutional goals while fostering cultures of collaboration, continuous learning, and responsible innovation.
Her leadership has contributed to Ithaca College's efforts to modernize core technology services, strengthen cybersecurity and AI governance practices, improve digital experiences, and support long-term organizational resilience. Through her work with EDUCAUSE and other professional communities, she actively contributes to advancing technology leadership practices across higher education.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Casey enjoys spending time with her daughter, exploring the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes region, and finding opportunities to slow down and recharge by the water. Whether sitting by a lake, enjoying the outdoors, or spending quality time with family, she values the balance that nature and personal connection bring to both leadership and life.
She is particularly interested in the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence, organizational change, and the future of higher education, and is passionate about helping people navigate technological change in thoughtful, human-centered ways.
