Current Position and Past Experience
Carola Weil has served at McGill University since 2018 and is currently Dean of Continuing Studies, as well as an Associate Professor (non-tenured) of Political Science at McGill University. Previously, she was founding Dean at American University’s School for Professional and Extended Studies in Washington, DC. and served in leadership roles, including as Associate Dean for Planning & Strategic Initiatives at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. Dr. Weil’s career has straddled both public policy and international development and educational organizations, as well as philanthropy.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Weil holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Management from University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bryn Mawr College. She has held post-doctoral fellowships at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and at the University of Southern California.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
A German and American dual citizen, Carola Weil has lived and worked all over the world. As the daughter of refugees and a holocaust survivor, she has dedicated herself to advancing a more inclusive and tolerant human society, both through her work and volunteer engagements. In her spare time, Weil loves to listen to music, especially jazz and guitar, appreciate fine arts and artists, or read fiction and poetry. You may find her gardening, cooking, checking out new restaurants and places to visit, or heading out for a walk or a swim when not at work or sitting in an airport.
