Current Position and Past Experience
Aria Chernik is currently Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Applied Research in Learning Innovation at Duke University and has been in the position since May 2024. At the same time, she is Faculty Director, Center for Applied Research and Design in Transformative Education (CARADITE) and Associate Professor of the Practice in the Social Science Research Institute at Duke University. She previously held several positions at Duke from Adjunct Instructor to Co-Founder + Co-Director, Open Design. Prior, she was Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor of Law at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Chernik completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke University. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in English Literature from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master of Arts in Englisher Literature from North Carolina State University, a Doctor of Law from University of Maine School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Bates College.
