Current Position and Past Experience
Colleen Webb serves as the Vice Provost for Graduate Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School at Colorado State University. She also holds a full professorship with a joint appointment in the Departments of Biology and Mathematics.

Dr. Webb served as Associate Dean of the Graduate School from 2019–2023, and previously directed CSU’s interdisciplinary Graduate Degree Program in Ecology. She maintains an active research program in disease ecology and mentors students at all levels. As Dean and Vice Provost, she is a dedicated advocate for graduate education and a strategic, service-oriented leader.

During her time as Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Webb led initiatives to support graduate student mentoring, diversity, and well-being, including the first graduate student mental health gap analysis. She helped establish the CSU Graduate Center for Inclusive Mentoring, created affinity groups for graduate students of color and international students, developed an assessment for inclusive pedagogy training, and played a key role in planning phased coverage of mandatory fees for graduate assistants.

Education, Honors and Achievements Dr. Webb earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Oregon, and a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Colleen is a single mom to four great kids. She enjoys spending time with them, especially exploring the Colorado outdoors and cooking together. When she finds a little time for herself, she enjoys extra gym time and playing piano. Colleen values a healthy mind and body as a foundation for resilience and for saying yes to life’s many opportunities.
