Susan Davenport | Interim Provost and Executive Vice President, Stockton University

Current Position and Past Experience
Susan Davenport serves as the Interim Provost and Executive Vice President at Stockton University providing the vision, leadership and strategic planning for the University’s Division of Academic Affairs. In this role, Dr. Davenport provides direction and support for the recruitment, appointment and advancement of faculty, allocates resources necessary to support the academic programs, represents Stockton University externally with regard to community relations, governmental relations, alumni relations and fundraising, and serves as a member of the senior leadership team of the institution. Since joining Stockton in 2013, Dr. Davenport established the Office of E-Learning, developing its mission statement and website and providing support for the Stockton community. She also serves as Stockton’s Middle States Accreditation Liaison Officer and as Chief Negotiator between the University and SFT. She served as liaison for the State of New Jersey to incorporate aspects of AASCU’s Global Challenges initiative into the curriculum.

Prior to joining Stockton, Dr. Davenport was the Associate Provost of Graduate Programs and the Dean of the Heavin School of Arts and Sciences at Thomas Edison State College, where she led the development and implementation of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, the recruitment and development of faculty, and the assessment of institutional, and programmatic student learning outcomes. She also served as co-chair of Thomas Edison State College’s Middle States Self Study Re-accreditation in 2012. She has presented at national and regional conferences on topics including fostering global awareness, learning outcomes assessment, general education, assessment of prior learning and serving nontraditional adults.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Davenport earned a Ph.D. in Educational Studies at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, a Master’s of Science degree in Psychological Services from University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychobiology from Drew University.
