Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Tom Jackson currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs at Northeastern State University. Before taking on his current role, Jackson was Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at NSU. Jackson is NSU’s Research Integrity Officer and has chaired NSU’s HLC Assessment and Persistence & Completion Academies. He is personally responsible for over five million dollars in Title III grants over the last five years. Past experiences include directing two nationally accredited Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology at two States’ flagship universities for a total of 23 years.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Tom attained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. His Internship and post-doc were at the Palo Alto VAMC, Stanford & Stanford Medical School.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Among numerous enthusiasms, Tom has ridden Harleys since 1965 and hunted/fished for at least that long. National community involvement involves his clinical/applied research expertise, providing sexual assault education and prevention programs to the NCAA, NOW, state bar associations and other groups/media, including an appearance on Oprah.
