Current Position and Past Experience
Thomas Black was appointed Johns Hopkins University’s first university registrar in 2017, responsible for coordinating and facilitating key functions across the institution’s nine academic divisions. In this role, Black works with registrars who continue to serve individuals schools within Johns Hopkins and coordinates issues of broad interest to students, and explores technological innovations in registrations and student records.
Concurrently, Black serves as Johns Hopkins University’s Assistant Vice Provost.
Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Black served as Associate Vice Provost and University Registrar at Stanford University.
