Steven Taylor | Founder and CEO, ED2WORK
Current Position and Past Experience
Steven Taylor is currently Founder and CEO of ED2WORK®. He founded ED2WORK to help postsecondary institutions and employers address the critical needs of adult and working learners. He also has affiliated roles as Senior Adviser on digital technology upskilling at Greater Washington Partnership, and Managing Consultant for the National Task Force on Transfer of Credit at the American Council on Education (ACE).
Taylor previously led national academic innovation initiatives at ACE, which included oversight of ACE’s learning evaluation services and role as quality assurance entity, and developing and leading ACE's teaching and learning innovation body of work. He secured over $4 million and managed over $5 million in grant program and research funding. Steven was the principal investigator on three major postsecondary education practice and research grants to advance teaching effectiveness, competency- and work-based learning, and build flexible credentialing pathways. Steven teaches and develops courses on organizational development, training and development, and experiential learning at Wilmington University (DE).
Early in his career, Steven led and secured funding for the first Texas Pre-Freshman Engineering Program (TexPREP) in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, a pre-college summer enrichment program for middle and high school students to study STEM in a college setting. He has also worked in student development positions at the University of North Texas and helped to launch the Richland Collegiate High School at Richland College (TX). Following his work at institutions of higher education, Steven worked in training and development at the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society leading the development of professional online training and certification courses for regulatory professionals in the health care industry.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Taylor earned his doctorate in business administration from Wilmington University, and master's in training and development and a bachelor's in health education and political science from Texas A&M University, Commerce.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Taylor splits his time between Washington, DC and Lost River, WV. He has a passion for lifting up rural communities and serves as Vice President of the Foundation Board for Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College. He enjoys the outdoors and you can often find him hiking trails in Appalachia with his husband and their dog, Princes, a Ridgeback-Vizsla mix.
