Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Stephen Harmon, Ed.D is Associate Dean of Research at Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE), Director of Education Innovation in the Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U), and Professor in Georgia Tech’s College of Design. At GTPE and C21U, Harmon leads the research, invention, prototyping and validation efforts associated with educational innovation and with managing resources available to Georgia Tech researchers and faculty members.

Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Harmon was Professor and Chair of the Learning Technologies Division in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University.

He is a past-president of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Stephen Harmon holds an M.A. and Ed.D. in Instructional Technology, with a cognate in Global Policy Studies, from the University of Georgia. He has a B.A. in English from Furman University.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
He enjoys tennis, woodworking, and making wine. He likes travel and the outdoors, and has been slowly section hiking the Appalachian Trail. Additionally, he loves making music and picks a mean flattop.
