Current Position and Past Experience
Sheila Martin is a strategic advisor for economic and community engagement at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities in Washington, D.C. Previously, she served as the Vice President for Economic and Community Engagement at APLU. She was a Professor and the Director and of the Institute of Portland Metropolitan Studies at Portland State University from 2004 until 2018.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Martin has a Ph.D in Economics from Iowa State University, which she earned in 1992. She has both a masters degree in International Studies from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science, from Southern Illinois University.
