Current Position and Past Experience
Sara Kurtz Allaei serves as the Executive Director for International Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and the Assistant Vice President for International Services at Indiana University. She has more than 30 years of international education experience, including English teaching abroad and in U.S. higher education settings; international student and scholar services; and international enrollment management. Her current leadership role focuses on achieving goals for continued growth in international student enrollment in concert with comprehensive campus internationalization. Allaei also engages strategically in implementing university-wide initiatives involving international enrollment and services.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Allaei earned her BA in English/Secondary Education from Salisbury University and her MA in Applied Linguistics from Indiana University-Bloomington.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Allaei is active in NAFSA: Association of International Educators and currently serves as a member of the training team for NAFSA’s Management Development Program. She also serves as a volunteer ESL instructor for a refugee resettlement program in Indianapolis.
