Sandra Janusch | Assistant Vice Provost for International & Academic Programs in the Continuum College, University of Washington

Current Position and Past Experience
Since 2016, Sandra Janusch has served as the Assistant Vice Provost for International & Academic Programs in the Continuum College at the University of Washington. Janusch oversees a wide range of offerings from degrees and credit certificates to a large portfolio of professional and English language programs, as well as UW Summer Quarter, the Osher Institute, UW Summer Youth, and UW in the High School. Prior to joining UW, Janusch worked at the University of Montana in Missoula as the Director of the English Language Institute. For four years, Janusch was an Instructor and Field Advisor for the Calgary Board of Education and the University of Calgary in a professional bridging program for internationally educated teachers. Throughout her career, Janusch has taught and coordinated a variety of programs in Canada, China, France, Indonesia, the Netherlands, the U.S. and Vietnam.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Janusch earned her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Calgary; her Masters of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Holy Names University; and a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. Janusch previously held K-12 teaching certification in California, Colorado, and Alberta, Canada, and she has a certificate in French language from the Sorbonne University, Paris.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
A dual citizen of the US and Canada, Sandra has spent most of her career living and working internationally. Her passion for meeting new people, exploring history, and communicating across cultures has never wavered. She enjoys spending her free time with family, getting to know the Pacific Northwest, and planning her next international adventure.
