Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Sally Beatty is a Principal with Heidrick & Struggles and a member of the Education, Nonprofit and Social Enterprise Practice.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Beatty worked as a consultant specializing in the Higher Education sector. She gained significant experience working for a variety of public, private and for-profit education institutions. Additionally, Beatty worked with ed tech companies and private equity firms who have an interest in the education space.
Early in her career, Beatty spent time working as a consultant for Accenture where she participated in Higher Education and Media & Entertainment engagements. Her other professional experiences include working with a multi-unit specialty retailer and for a publically traded digital content company.
Beatty taught graduate and undergraduate students both online and on campus at The Ohio State University, Roosevelt University, Benedictine University and Columbia College. She was a Higher Learning Commission peer reviewer for several years.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Beatty holds B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from The Ohio State University. She studied at London School of Economics and completed a fellowship at Northwestern University. Her dissertation research focused on faculty and administrator perceptions and adoption of distance education, and used a pragmatic approach to evaluate technology, organizational behavior and leadership styles as they correlate to successful programs.
