Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Renea Akin currently serves as Interim Vice President of Enrollment Management at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC). Akins is also the Associate Vice President for Learning Initiatives at WKCTC. Akin has worked at WKCTC since 1993 and has held several positions including Dean of Institutional Planning, Research and Effectiveness and Professor. Before joining WKCTC, Akin was a Physical Therapist for nine years.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Akins has earned her BHS from the University of Kentucky, her MHS from the University of Indianapolis and her EdD in Higher Education Administration from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University.
Akin was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges for her work on the accreditation team.
