Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Ravi Roy currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Southern Utah University, where he concurrently serves as the Director of the W.E. Deming Incubator for Public Affairs. He is also the inaugural W. Edwards Deming Institute Fellow in Public Affairs.
From 2011 to 2015, Roy was a Visiting Research Scholar at University of California, Santa Barbara. Throughout his career Roy has held a number of academic positions including Director of the Post-Graduate Program in International Development at RMIT University in Australia and Director of the MPA program at California State University, Northridge. Roy has co-authored several articles and books for publications like SAGE Press Ltd. and the Oxford University Press.
Roy also volunteers his time to several committees at Southern Utah University such as Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice Curriculum Committee, the University Undergraduate Curriculum committee, and the HSS College Curriculum Committee.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Roy earned his BA in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles. He earned his Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education from RMIT University Australia. In 1998, Roy earned his MA in Public Policy and in 2000, his Ph.D. in Political Science/ Public Policy from Claremont Graduate University.
In 2010, Roy was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for his work on Towards 2025, Geopolitical and Security Challenges: Focus on Economy and Energy Aspects by his Excellency President Suslio Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia at the Indonesia Defense University in Jakarta.
