Current Position and Past Experience
Appointed Executive Director of Social Sciences at Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education (SNHU COCE) in 2018, Dr. Michelle G. Hill is responsible for the strategic direction of the Social Sciences programs. These include the following Bachelor’s programs: Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology, as well as the following Master’s programs: Criminal Justice, Political Science, and Psychology. Prior to this, Dr. Hill was Senior Associate Dean of Psychology Programs at SNHU COCE.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Michelle G. Hill attained her Ph.D. in Psychology (specialization in Cognitive Psychology) from Stanford University in 2008, her M.A. in Psychology from Stanford University in 2005, and her B.S. in Psychology from Stony Brook University in 2001.
In 2017, Dr. Hill was part of a SNHU COCE team that won Online Learning Consortium’s Digital Learning Innovation Award (DLIAward) for their project “Enhancing FYE with Integrated Courseware.” Dr. Hill worked on the two Social Sciences courses that were part of the First Year Experience pilot project, collaborating with external digital courseware providers to streamline learning pathways and increase student success.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Michelle G. Hill enjoys spending time with her husband Josh, their two cats Sherlock and Willow, and their English bulldog Holmes. She also enjoys cooking, going to concerts, rooting for her favorite sports teams (New York Giants and New York Yankees), and participating in charitable endeavors such as for the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, and her local church. She is a member of her local library’s volunteer group that supports fundraising efforts.
