Current Position and Past Experience
Marthann Schulte, PhD is currently Program Director and Lead Designer of TLSS – Technology Learning Support Specialists at New Mexico Highlands University. Previously, she served as an Academic Strategist and Senior Market Research Analyst at Pearson Online Learning Services. Prior, she was at Park University for 11 years, serving as the Adult Education Program Director, Coordinator of Online Faculty Evaluation and a full professor (tenured) of Education and Online Learning. Dr. Schulte’s career in higher education is focused in online learning – including adult education, military education and instructor training/evaluation fields.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Schulte holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from Kansas State University. Her dissertation (2002) was titled “University Instructors’ Perceptions of Factors in Distance Education Transactions.” She also has a Master of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in History Education from Fort Hays State University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Marthann lives in Minnesota with her husband (retired active duty Army) and two children. She has an extensive music background in piano and voice, which is her main avocation. When not tending the flower and vegetable gardens in her backyard, Marthann enjoys reading (historical novels and biographies). Her guilty pleasure is watching TV, with sports events and science documentaries always at the top of the queue.
