Current Position and Past Experience
Maria Beam is currently Director of Social Work at Oakland University and has been in this position since 2012. Previously, she was Director of Field Education and Student Supports Social Work. Prior to Oakland, Beam was A Financial Stability Manager at United Way for Southeastern Michigan. She was also Assistant Program Director and part-time intructor at Michigan State University for five years.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Beam holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Oakland University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work in Community and Organizational Practices from Michigan State University.
