Current Position and Past Experience
Luke Dowden is the Chief Online Learning Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor at Alamo Colleges District in San Antonio, Texas, a role he has held since 2018.

Previously, Dowden worked as the Director of Distance Learning for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for eight years. Between 2012 and 2017, Dowden also worked in the Louisiana's Graduate Faculty in the College of Education.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dowden earned his Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2009

He also has a Master of Education degree in Adult Education that he earned from Northwestern State University in 2002, and a BA in History from the same school, which he completed in 1999.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Dowden is a member of the Learning Technology Advisory Committee for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. LTAC is a public forum for problem solving and improving digital learning in higher ed.
