Lisa Myers | Assistant Professor of Adult Education and Leadership Studies, Texas A&M University-Texarkana

Current Position and Past Experience
Lisa Myers is currently Assistant Professor of Adult Education and Leadership Studies at Texas A&M University-Texarkana and has been with the school since 2013. Myers also directs the Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) program, A&M-Texarkana’s degree completion program for post-traditional students. Her interest in adult learning and education began in 2001 when she coordinated a teacher academy that paired post-traditional students with elementary classrooms. In recent years, Myers has collaborated with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), specifically in the areas of Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) and marketing to post-traditional students. In addition to the above educational opportunities and positions, Myers taught English at the high school level for several years before moving into higher education.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Myers holds a Doctor of Education in Education Leadership from the University of New England. She also holds a Master of Science in Adult Education, as well as a Bachelor of Science in English from Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
In her free time, Myers enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two little granddaughters, Scarlett and Vivien. She and her husband, Kevin, can’t wait for summer’s end to escape to some of their favorite camping spots in Arkansas and Texas.
