Current Position and Past Experience
Laura Barnard is currently Executive Vice President and Provost of Lakeland Community College and has been in this position since 2016. She spent more than 20 years in the classroom as a professor of paralegal studies. Other administrative appointments included Associate Provost for Retention and Completion, and Dean of Applied Studies. Prior to Lakeland, Laura practiced labor and employment law.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Barnard holds a Juris Doctor in Law from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in history from Mount Holyoke College. She is a past Chair of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Paralegals and its Approval Commission, and currently serves on the Ohio State Bar Association’s Paralegal Certification Board. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio.
