Kevin Shanley | Manager of Distance Education, Utah State University

Current Position and Past Experience
Since 2008, Kevin Shanley has been administrating distance education programming at Utah State University, currently serving as the Manager of Distance Education. Prior to this, Shanley served as in USU’s Faculty Assistance Center for Teaching (FACT) where he helped faculty use Blackboard, assisted them in designing effective instruction and offered faculty technology workshops. Prior to his work with FACT, Shanley was the manager of instructional technology at Edmonds Community College in Washington. He has also worked as an Instructional Designer at California State University, Chico.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Shanley earned his Bachelor’s Degree from CSU Chico and Master’s Degree from Utah State University.

He received the AECT R. W. "Buddy" Burniske Award in 2010 for a joint paper titled, ā€œConducting a Cultural Audit: A Case Study in Service Learning for the Dominican Republicā€

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Shanley serves as an Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America.
