Current Position and Past Experience
Kalynn Pirkl is an Associate Dean for the School of Business and Information Technology and an Instructor at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). She has been teaching at CNM for since 2003, and has been in administration since 2016. She was also the Chair of the Business Administration, Office Technology and Project Management programs for 3 years and a Presidential Fellow for one year.
It gives Kalynn great pleasure to have been on the “ground floor” of CNM’s Fast Track initiative, which provides an alternative pathway for students to attain their degrees in a condensed format. She is also very involved with CNM’s CBE initiatives, especially the implementation and management of the Retail Management Certificate program.
Before coming to CNM, Kalynn taught for a year at the University of New Mexico and worked in management positions in the retail industry until she took the Human Resources Director position at Bowlin Outdoor Advertising and Travel Centers.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Kalynn Pirkl holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from New Mexico State University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Mexico. She is Quality Matters certified and won the Distinguished Faculty Award for CNM in 2015 for Excellence in Teaching and Service.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
When Kalynn is not conducting her administrative duties or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends! She is an avid reader and loves to play Mah Jongg, Bunco and Euchre in her spare time.
