Current Position and Past Experience
With more than 20 years of experience in postsecondary education policy and practice, Dr. Jonathan S. Gagliardi was appointed Associate Director of the Center for Policy Research and Strategy at the American Council on Education (ACE) in June 2016. Prior to this, Dr. Gagliardi served as Vice President for Policy Research and Strategic and Head of the Council’s Center for policy Research and Strategy, where he was responsible for further positioning ACE as a thought leader on emerging trends in higher education. While at ACE he published two landmark papers, Post-Traditional Learners and the Transformation of Higher Education and Evolving Higher Education Business Models.
Before joining ACE, Dr. Gagliardi was Chancellor’s Fellow on Completion at the State University of New York, where he helped to lead the development, implementation and scaling of strategies designed to realize the goal of increasing the number of graduates from 93,000 to 150,000 annually by 2020.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Jonathan Gagliardi is an Institute Fellow at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government. He received his PhD in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from the University at Albany, an MA in Public Administration from Harvard University, and a Bachelor in Business Economics from Brown University.
