Current Position and Past Experience
John Borwick is the Manager of Higher Education IT Management, a service provider he founded in 2013.

Prior to this, Borwick worked for 10 years at Wake Forest University, ending his tenure as the Director of Information Services Portfolio Management. Borwick was central to building the institution’s IT change management process and developing its process infrastructure and governing document structure for all IT processes.

Borwick got his start in higher education at North Carolina State University, where he served as an Adjunct Instructor and Interim Systems Administrator.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Borwick earned his BA in English and his BS in Computer Science from NCSU in 2002.

He has earned a number of professional certifications through his career, and has an ITIL® Expert certificate, an active PMP® certification, and a COBIT 4.1 Foundation certificate.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
John served on the itSMF Higher Education SIG Board for several years and was President from 2011-2012.
