Current Position and Past Experience
Joanne Duklas is currently President at Duklas Cornerstone Consulting Inc. Prior, she worked at York University for eight years serving as Assistant Vice President of Enrolment Management & University Registrar and University Registrar.
She is an award-winning leader in higher education who leads her own consulting firm in higher education providing research and consulting support to governments, institutions and sector organizations. She also currently serves as the executive lead for the
ARUCC National Network project which has created
MyCreds™ | MesCertif™, a national trusted document exchange highway and credential wallet for learners that delivers digitized badges, microcredentials, documents, transcripts, and diplomas on behalf of Canadian colleges and universities.
Her career also includes serving as the vice president and president of ARUCC (2010 - 2012), as a past member of the 2020/21
TAICEPStrategic Task Force, and as a former registrar and assistant vice president at one of Canada’s largest post-secondary institutions.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Duklas holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Organizational Behaviour and Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Sociology from York University and credentials in the psychometric assessment field. She has won awards for her volunteerisim include the Honorary Member Award by the national Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC), the Honorary Membership Award from the Ontario University Registrars’ Association (OURA) and the Distinguished Service Award by the international Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC).
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Duklas is an active artist in the fine arts and exhibits her work online, in juried shows at galleries and through juried artwalks. She is a member of various artist collectives and organizations. Duklas is a multi-disciplinary artist with a primary interest in abstract art whose mediums of choice include acrylic, watercolour and ink.
