Current Position and Past Experience
Since 2015, James Wiley has served as a Principal Analyst at Eduventures, a research and advisory firm focused on analyzing the forces that are transforming higher education. Before joining Eduventures, Wiley served as an Independent Consultant at the Public Consulting Group and an Executive Vice President at the Center for Educational Leadership and Technology. Wiley also served as a Project Director for Statewide Longitudinal State Systems at UPD Consulting. For two years prior to that, Wiley was a Senior Associate at The Education Trust, focusing first on Legislative Affairs and then on Knowledge Management. This followed two years at McGraw-Hill Education, where Wiley served as a Program Manager and spent a year as Director of State and District Partnerships.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Wiley earned his BA in Philosophy, Greek and Latin from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College. He was awarded a Marshall Scholarship, which enabled him to earn a BA and MA in Classics from the University of Cambridge. He also earned a Certificat d’Enseignant in Sociology of the Ancient World from the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Wiley is an active participant on several academic boards including Achievement First, E.L. Haynes Public Charter School for Children, Brooklyn City Preparatory Charter School as Board Chair and the Bronx Charter School for Children.
