Current Position and Past Experience
Jacklyn Thompson serves as a Writing Advisor in the Effective Writing Center at University of Maryland University College and formally worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Writing Coach in the Master of Distance Education program at UMUC. Thompson is also the Operations Manager for Boys & Girls Clubs of the High Rockies, a non-profit focused on positive youth development. Thompson has co-authored published articles, including Competency Based Education and the Relationship to Digital Badges for Digital Badges in Education in 2016 and Promoting Wellness in Adult Online Education in 2014.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Thompson earned her BS in Social Sciences and her Master of Distance Education from the University of Maryland University College. She was awarded the 2014 National University Technology Network Student Recognition Award for exemplary use of distance education.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
In her downtime, Jacklyn enjoys hiking, biking, and cross country skiing in the Colorado high country.
