Current Position and Past Experience
Gary Allen is currently the Vice President for Information Technology at the University of Missouri System. He also serves as Chief Information Officer for the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Allen is also an associate professor of veterinary pathobiology at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. He holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Health Management and Informatics in the University of Missouri’s School of Medicine and serves on the steering committee for the MU Informatics Institute.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Allen received his B.S. and D.V.M. from Mississippi State University, a PhD in microbiology from the University of Missouri, and completed post-doctoral training in biochemistry/immunology and medical informatics from Texas A&M and University of Missouri, respectively.
