Fred Holman | Vice Provost of Extended Studies and Community Engagement, University of Nevada, Reno

Current Position and Past Experience
Fred Holman was appointed Vice Provost of Extended Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2004. In this role, he has overall leadership and responsibility for delivering academic credit and non-credit outreach programs, customized training and other educational activities to the public. Prior to this position, Holman served as the Dean of Continuing and Adult Education at St. Thomas University for eight years. This followed fourteen years at St. Ambrose University where he served first as the Dean of Continuing Education, and then as the Dean of Graduate and Continuing Education. Holman also served as St. Ambrose University’s Associate Dean of Continuing Education and Director of Conferences and Institutes.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Holman earned his Associate of Arts Degree from North Central Missouri College in 1973. In 1975, he earned his BA from William Penn University. He earned his MA from Truman State University and he earned his PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Iowa.
