Dennis Di Lorenzo | Dean of the School of Professional Studies, New York University

Current Position and Past Experience
Dennis Di Lorenzo was named dean of the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU-SPS), in September 2013, after an extensive national search. Having served previously as interim and vice dean, as well as in various other senior leadership positions for almost 20 years, Di Lorenzo has in-depth knowledge of NYU-SPS that few others can claim. His knowledge of all things NYU-SPS is rivaled only by his passionate dedication to the School, evidenced by his key contributions to its evolution and growth. Di Lorenzo has fostered the development of innovative programming; provided insight and guidance on faculty and student affairs; expanded the School’s presence both domestically and abroad; and oversaw the renovation of 7 East 12th Street, the new flagship home for NYU-SPS, which was a fundamental step toward establishing the School’s identity as a trailblazer in professional higher education.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Di Lorenzo earned his BA from Fordham University in 1993.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
For the last eight years, Dean Di Lorenzo has also been acting in a public service capacity, building consensus and creating public policy as the president of the Harrison Board of Education, which serves a multi-cultural pre-K through 12th grade student population. He and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of Julia, Dennis Jr and Jack.
