David Stout | President, Brookdale Community College

Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. David M. Stout has devoted his professional career to furthering the mission of Brookdale Community College in a variety of roles spanning more than two decades, culminating in his appointment as the institution’s seventh president in 2018. David’s long tenure with Brookdale began in 1997 as an Academic Tutor in the Psychology Department. Two years later, he took on the role of Counselor. In 2006, he joined the faculty member ranks in the Psychology Department. He became Chair of the Psychology and Human Services Department in 2007, serving for seven years. David’s path then led him to the administrative ranks. He served as Dean of the Freehold campus from 2013 to 2015. As Vice President of Student Success from 2015 to 2017, he oversaw numerous departments and areas including recruitment, admissions, registration and academic advising. He was appointed Interim President in 2017 and then President one year later.

Education, Honors and Achievements
David earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Stockton University, a Master's Degree in Psychological Counseling at Monmouth University and a Ph.D. in Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at Northcentral University.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
President Stout enjoys traveling with his wife and children.
