Phillips earned her Doctor of Education in Higher Education from Texas Tech University. She also has a Master of Arts in Multi-Media Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Arkansas Tech University. Under her leadership, their team won the highest in-house design team award in 2019 from UCDA, a grand gold from CASE in 2020, and Phillips was named a CASE District IV Rising Star. She also holds the P-CM credential through the American Marketing Association

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Phillips is Chair-elect for her district of CASE. She is also a volunteer with HighEdWeb. Now that she is finished with her dissertation, she is enjoying writing about marketing and leadership on her website Finally, she’s a puppy mom to Eleanor Belle and loves to travel and see the world.
