Current Position and Past Experience
Since 2012, Bill Mercer has served as the Manager of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education Services at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He concurrently assists the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as a Senior Research Associate.
Prior to this role, Mercer spent nine years with Freescale Semiconductor, holding positions as the Senior Applications Engineer, the Enablement Team Leader and the Software Project Manager. Mercer also spent two years as a Senior Integrated Circuit Design Engineer with Motorola, prior to the Freescale spinoff.
Mercer started his career as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Mercer earned his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aircraft Maintenance from the Community College of the Air Force in 1998. In the same year, he earned another AAS degree from Trident Technical College. Mercer earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2001.
