Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Barbara Lesniak started as adjunct faculty at Southern New Hampshire University in 2012. She moved into a full-time faculty position before becoming an Associate Dean of Social Sciences in 2016. Prior to her career in academia, she worked as a corporate trainer for 15 years, as well as counseling children and families at Guardian Angel Home in Joliet, Illinois.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Lesniak earned her B.A. in Psychology and Human Resource Management and her M.A. in Psychology at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. She completed her Psy.D. at California Southern University and is also a Certified Professional Coach. She is the author of “So You Want to Be a Counselor,” a career guide in the Fell Official Know-It-All Guide series.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Barb lives near the Orlando theme parks, where she makes good use of her annual passes throughout the year. She champions literacy and was on the Osceola County Library Advisory Board at a crucial time to help bring a library branch to her community. She and her husband have a menagerie that includes a horse, a dog, four cats, a guinea pig and a Quaker parrot. She loves to read, swim, and jog and completed her first half-marathon in 2018. Her secret vice is playing Pokémon Go.
