Current Position and Past Experience
April Philpotts is the Associate Director of Strategy and Special Projects for WatSPEED, University of Waterloo’s professional education arm designed to support the workforce of the future. She has spent 20+ years in education at both corporate and academic institutions including BlackBerry (Manager of MFG Training), Communitech (Manager of Learning Programs) and Humber College (Director of Continuing Education for Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology) and Conestoga College (Instructor). April has worked with hundreds of individuals, industries, and community organizations to launch market-led programs across a variety of areas including leadership and communication training, innovation bootcamps, and STEM programs.
Education, Honors and Achievements
April holds a concurrent Bachelor of Arts and Education degree from Lakehead University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of the University, April directs a choir as church organist, teaches and writes music and has a passion for swing dancing.
